Arte Fogata believes every young person deserves the opportunity to create, express themselves, and thrive through art.

Founded by New York City-based artist Robert Aitchison, Arte Fogata works with vulnerable youth in Bolivia and New York City through dynamic visual arts programs that foster creativity, confidence, and connection. Through art workshops, collaborative projects, and intercultural exchange, we create spaces where young people can imagine, express, and grow.

Arte Fogata is dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth from at-risk communities through engaging and transformative art workshops that inspire creativity, build confidence, and cultivate meaningful connections.

Our Mission

What began as an independent volunteer art project in La Paz, Bolivia in 2015, has grown into Arte Fogata, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to transformative creative opportunities and fostering meaningful connections for vulnerable youth.

Arte Fogata emerged from founder Robert Aitchison’s more than 25 years of commitment to arts education and community engagement. Alongside his work as a visual artist, Aitchison has spent decades teaching in New York City schools while independently organizing and self funding art workshops for youth in Bolivia for more than eleven years.

Our Story

Through years of working alongside children & teens in both New York City and Bolivia, Aitchison witnessed how creative expression can build confidence, strengthen connection, and empower youth to discover and share their creative voice.

Why Art Matters

Today, Arte Fogata continues to grow with a vision of expanding access to engaging arts programming, building community partnerships, and creating opportunities for youth to express themselves, connect, and thrive through creativity.
